The MiataScope

This is a 10" truss-tube dobsonian designed to fit into the trunk of a Mazda Miata. Those of you who've driven a Miata know that they don't really have a trunk -- just a second glove box.

Note the cut-away front corners. Those are to clear the lip of the trunk lid when it closes. There is no wiggle room when the scope is in the trunk.

MiataScope undergoes final inspection before going out into the field.

Out in the field. The small box on top holds accessories. Below that, the ground board acts as a cover to the mirror box. The upper tube assembly fits snugly in the mirror box, which fits snugly in the rocker box.
